Guiding immigrant educators through systemic complexities with integrity, clarity, and lived experience.

Clarity • Agency • Integrity

Who We Are

  • Teacherhood is an ethical mentoring, coaching, and consulting practice created to safeguard immigrant teachers against systemic vulnerabilities through clarity, preparation, and informed decision-making.

  • Founded in 2019 and incubated at the Harvard Kennedy School, Teacherhood is a veteran- and minority-woman-owned practice grounded in lived experience and rigorous research. This work emerged from years of academic study and firsthand observation of how well-intentioned educators are often left exposed by opaque systems and power imbalances.

  • While large placement agencies prioritize contracts, compliance, and volume, Teacherhood centers the educator. We help teachers navigating high-stakes transitions—before or after migration—interpret "hidden rules," recognize ethical red flags, and retain agency over their professional and personal decisions.

This Is Not a Placement Agency

Teacherhood does not recruit, place, or sponsor teachers. Instead, we offer human-scale support designed to help educators ask better questions and move forward with confidence and dignity.

  • Integrity over expediency anchors this work. We choose transparency and ethical responsibility over visibility or guarantees. We are here to ensure that your move toward a new classroom is defined by informed choice, not institutional convenience.

Ask better questions. Get honest answers.
